For a three year old, walking one of your sisters out to the bus is the perfect time to take advantage of a little rain to splash in… Pajamas and rain boots, of course!
What an incredible time we had while visiting Arizona… Tons of girl time, delicious food (and drinks), plenty of shopping, an entire day of spa pampering, and countless laughs. I seriously could not be more thankful and grateful for the friendships of these girls!… We missed our sweet friend Kayla, but she had to stay home snuggling on her brand new baby boy 🙂
We started out by grabbing a quick brunch at the airport restaurant..
Funny story about our plane ride… While taxi-ing on the runway, I all of a sudden felt a flood of water down my back.. This kept happening, and the flight attendant quickly got us a roll of paper towels. We were using them and then a huge long piece that ran down the length of the plane started to fall on our heads! We couldn’t not stop laughing… Tears ran down our faces. Oh the memories.. lol
After dinner we headed towards Scottsdale to do a little shopping…
Saturday was an ENTIRE day dedicated to spa treatments… We were pampered w/ a whirlpool sauna, facials, body wraps, deep tissue massages, pedicures, and lunch by the pool. Honestly a dream day! It was also a surprise that a very special person treated us to our spa day AND dinner that evening… We were blown away and beyond grateful!
After plenty of relaxation and pampering, we took our sweet time getting ready for dinner that night.. It was a blast to have vanities at the clubhouse lined up that we could all get ready together. Hey, you’re never too old for hair & make-up w/ your girlfriends!
That balcony is where we had dinner… The food was beyond amazing, fantastic service, and just an awesome evening.
Sunday we had a quick breakfast and headed down to the pool to relax for a bit… Then we had the entire day free to shop & stroll around the area, and I’m quite sure we shopped ourselves out.. I have to admit that I was guilty of filling the OTHER girls’ luggage w/ my shopping goodies for the flight home because I ran out of room in my own suitcase.
The shopping areas were just beautiful! I had no idea there were palm trees in AZ!
My kiddos would have loved this store… Nothing but SWEETS!
I didn’t really buy this, but had to send a pic to my husband teasing him…
When we walked into this store I saw this vintage uniform looking jacket and dared Nanc to try it on… Who knew she could make something that initially looked a bit over the top adorable! 🙂
Thankfully the car truck was plenty big for our shopping… 4 women and a day to roam from store to store can get dangerous! 😉
Our final stop was to a well known part of Fountain Hills… It was incredibly beautiful, and so peaceful & relaxing. We spent some time just sitting by the water taking it all in.. If I lived in AZ it would definitely be a must visit spot for laying in the grass reading a book and picnics w/ my fam..
Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and say goodbye to our 4 day girls’ weekend… Memories made to last a lifetime! <3
Talk about a five year old who was READY for kindergarten.. Ashlyn couldn’t wait! We first got to take in her school supplies & meet her Kindergarten teacher.. She was SO sweet! Ashlyn instantly loved her, and we felt great about the upcoming school year w/ her.
I’ll admit, kissing and hugging her and her hopping onto the bus and waving from the window definitely made this mama cry! I know she’s gonna be a great student, it was just the realization that she’s grade-school age now 🙂
When she got home from school she said it was a FUN day… I asked her if she saw her principal today… She answered, “Yep! He is SO…… handsome!”… Ha!
