Ashlyn | First Lost Tooth

This girl couldn’t have possibly been more excited to lose her first tooth.  She has been telling us for moths that a tooth was wiggly.  We’d oblige and check, and reassure her that “no, honey, they’re all fully intact”..   I think she was determined enough that, she got one loose!

6 years old, and super excited to be semi-toothless 🙂

My Mother’s Day 2015

I always say there are things you never realize you’ll say, that is until you’re a mommy…   “Son, put your penis away”, “Why is the honey in the bathroom?”, “Okay, let’s have treats before dinner, but just this once”..  And the list goes on.

Truly one of the most difficult, patience challenging roles I’ve had in my entire life, but by far the most heart swelling, and rewarding.  Not a single day goes by that I don’t hear, “I love you, mommy”.. I couldn’t ask for more.

God’s Plan

I came across this video today, and just had to share it… Seriously beautifully spoken words, and a beautiful testimony of faith.

I recently had an absolutely wonderful conversation w/ a man working at our local Lowes store.  He initially asked if I needed help w/ anything.  I soon learned that we attend the same church, and after answering a couple electrical questions, we shared a great conversation about God’s plan for our lives, faith, and Christianity.  My new friend was a breath of fresh air on that random Saturday evening.  It was a blessing to have met & talked w/ him.  Couldn’t have been more apparent of God’s plan & timing.

Young Living Essential Oils | Favorite Tools

Here is a list of some of my favorite items that I use as an oiler…

Organic Coconut Oil:  I use this as my carrier oil when diluting essential oils.  Most EO you will want to dilute because they are extremely concentrated.  Start smaller on the nuymber of drops
Fractionated Coconut Oil w/ Pump:
Glass roller bottles:  We use these ALL the time & daily in our home!31cL2-QFDRL._SY355_
Small drams:  Perfect for sharing & giving samples to others41Q3TF6YDiL
Glass Water Bottle:  When using citrus in your water, make sure to use glass or stainless steel only… The oils will cause plastic to break down and contaminate your water

S tainless Steel (2 pack)

4oz Aluminum Spray Bottles:

Carrying Case for Travel:
Mascara Tubes:  I use these to make a lash growth serum!

Capsules for making my own blends.  So far, we’ve made a digestive/diet trio (lemon, grapefruit & peppermint) as well as an allergy blend (lemon, lavender, peppermint).  Be sure to store them in a glass container in the freezer… Citrus oils will start to break down the capsules! 🙂

Capsule Machine:  SO helpful in quickly making multiple capsule blends41xg5Sk-xUL

DIY Skin Cream | Essential Oil

My 4 year old son has extremely sensitive skin… Just from wearing denim jeans, his legs become rough w/ red patches that get really sore & itchy for him, almost like an eczema.

I picked up some mason jars at a local store, and used the following recipe:

1 cup organic Coconut Oil
15 drops Lavender Oil
15 drops Melrose (which is a blend of melaleuca/tea tree oil, rosemary, and clove)

Whip the coconut oil in a stand mixer (or bowl).  Add in drops of essential oil, and blend well.  Store mixture in the glass mason jar.  (Melrose is a blend of

I apply this directly to my son’s skin after baths & sometimes before getting him dressed in the mornings.  It has done wonders for his skin, and I feel more confident using this blend over store bought lotions.
