There’s something so magical about having a home decorated for the Christmas holidays… Don’t you agree? I think w/ the weather being colder and/or snowing, which we hadn’t had much of until after the first of the new year, it adds to the coziness feel.
I was excited to see what the entry way would look this year, since the stairway railings had been updated..
The fireplace wall has changed from last year too..
Apparently the kids thought our stockings needed labels… lol
I like to change our tree up a little each year… This time around, we went w/ browns and golds.
I wanted to make our tree a little higher, so I headed out to the garage to use a few pallet pieces that I had lying around… I built each of the 4 “walls separately, using two 1×2’s to connect each of the three pallet pieces. For the top, I used 1×3’s to create rows across to support a piece of plywood that the tree base would then sit on. Added a little burlap around, and I think it’s a good DIY tree crate!
So many things in this image cracks me up…. Ladybug pillow pet on the balcony landing above, rubber basketball under the dining table, and Rowen climbing onto the kitchen counter 🙂
Thanks for “touring” our holiday home for 2014! 🙂
