What a fun night! I always look forward to having a quick dinner, and heading out w/ the kids. I think I enjoy Halloween & trick-or-treating more now than when even when I was a kid going, because I see how much fun my own kids have. The very first trick-or-treater that we had at the door, had Rowen in tears, running from the front door.. It was a robot/action figure of some type, and boy, he did not like that one. Erik & I looked at each other thinking, “uh oh, trick-or-treating might not go to well for him”… But thankfully, there must have been something about that one costume, because he did great!
It was nice to meet some of our other neighbors in the subdivision, and see new familiar faces too. One man asked Ashlyn who her brother was dressed as and she replied, “He’s superman, SILLY!”.. We all had a good laugh. Kaylor had a friend along, and was patient while she walked w/ the little ones to the first several houses. We then let her continue on when we stopped back at home to warm up for a bit. We thought the two littles would be upset, but they had a ball answering the door & handing out candy. Our neighbors w/ a little boy one month older than Rowen came over, and the boys were giggling & having such much fun w/ one another. One lesson learned, the sidewalks & driveways are longer to walk up to here.. Kaylor said her legs were plenty tired when she got back home.. lol We had a great number of kids come by, and our first Halloween in the new house & area was lots of fun.
Since Kaylor was the one who continued on to other houses, she hit the jackpot w/ her bag of candy.. Ack! Thankfully, they already “know the drill” w/ the trade in that we have afterwards, so there weren’t too many objections. Our trade-in is that they can pick X amount of pieces, and the rest gets donated to our church.. Well I should say “the rest” being what daddy doesn’t eat.. <hehe>.. Okay, okay.. Correction, what mommy doesn’t eat 😛
Happy Halloween, all! Hope you too, had a great evening of fun!
