Such a big day for our 3 year old, Ashlyn… The very first day of Preschool! She was super excited, and squealed w/ delight when we were able to say this morning, “Yes, TODAY, is the day!”… She often asks us what day of the week it is, so waiting until Thursday to get here took some patience! We are so excited for the school year for her. I cannot wait to see what she learns & is able to experience while being in the classroom setting.
Today, we stayed w/ her and went on a search adventure around the class room. We found the art easel, an art table where they drew their hand print, the snack table where they had a drink & snack, and a tall loft w/ stairs to climb up to it, the job stations. They also found their cubby w/ their name & family picture on it, and each of the teachers waiting to meet them. She also got to pick a book from their class library to sit & read w/ us. They even have a class pet that belongs to Mrs. Baker, “Oreo”, a black & white rabbit. He’s pretty cute! Ashlyn was happy to see her buddy, Caden too. She often plays w/ him, so it will be nice to have a pal in class w/ her.
One of her teachers is Mrs. Lykkebak (pronounced lick-a-back). I couldn’t help but laugh on the way home when Ashlyn told me, “I feel like I want to call her Mrs. Leprechaun”, and started giggling… Silly girl! We think preschool is going to be great! Happy 1st day of preschool, Ashlyn Ray Emilie, mommy & daddy love you! 🙂
