What a great last couple of days!
Friday our day started off w/ the girls & I snuggled in bed watching a few mins of cartoons. Many days start like this, and I literally take mental snapshots each & every time. Giggles galore, tickling, and all piled in our bed… pure heaven! The only thing missing this week was been Erik, but thankfully he (and Jake) had a safe trip back from Dallas on Friday afternoon.
Friday afternoon we packed up and headed to the bank, grabbed lunch, and went to the park to eat & play. Even though Ashlyn didn’t quite know what was in store, I think she could sense big sister’s excitement.. Both girls had a ball! The weather was super warm, a tad windy, but not too bad.. There was only one other child there, so we had most of the place to ourselves. As I watch children run around playgrounds, it reminds me of how free their minds are. Free to explore, free to run, free to jump and spin, free to be THEM. They don’t stop to think about it, they just go! I’m pretty sure anytime as an adult we need a pick me up, it’s probably a good idea to take a few trips down the slide 😉
Saturday I had a few sessions during the daytime, then we headed to the school carnival.. The girls had a blast eating goodies, face painting, and some games..
Yesterday was productive as well… We got a lot around the house done, and Erik is getting close to a functioning bathroom in our basement.. Whooo hoo! The girls & I played outside a bit, and I was able to re-purpose an end table that I bought online for only $10! I took before & after pics, so I’ll share those soon.
Hope everyone had a great Monday, and week ahead!
