to “A Step Inside”… our personal family blog, documenting the craziness of our every day life.. Sit back, enjoy, laugh, and share in the road we travel..

I'm Bridget.. A SAHM (stay at home mom), mother of 3, and a follower of Christ. I'm also a photographer, and passionate about life.. I hope to share that w/ you too! Life isn't always perfect, but it's perfectly created in His plan. I'm beyond thankful for God's grace and His many blessings!

Accident & Potty Time (no relation..lol)….

What a whirlwind of a week and weekend!  Lots of sessions kept me busy, and that was just in addition to our “normal crazy everyday” life.. haha  Whew!

If you follow Erik or I on facebook, you may have seen that we had a scare on Friday evening.  Long story short, Erik was hit on his drive home after leaving the office, and while his car was not drivable, he is okay.  The other driver was not injured either, and was either distracted or texting, and completely blew through a stop sign onto the 3 lane one-way street Erik was driving on.  She was ticketed, and now we begin the fun insurance process.  Erik had called me (hands-free through the car i-navigation system) and in the next instant was t-boned, and spinning into oncoming traffic.  Very scary.  Kaylor was pretty upset as she heard me get the phone call from the BMW emergency service that notified me of the accident.  We are SO, so thankful on so many levels.  It’s such an eye opener though how quickly things can change in literally a split second.

Earlier this week Kaylor told me about a recycling project there were getting ready to start for school.  Apparently they need to bring in some of their own recyclables, and she grabbed a couple of Bud Light Lime beer bottles out of ours and said she had her items ready.  Ummmmm…. lol  I had to stifle some giggles and tell her that cans were probably a more appropriate choice for school.. hehe

Ashlyn has been cracking us up w/ her expanding signs & vocabulary this week.  She is now mimicking us, quite often, and we all get many laughs.  Among these words are; ribbit, drama queen, woooooowww, whaz zat (what’s that), BroBro (for uncle Brodie)

We also have been talking lots about her new potty chair.. I don’t expect her to make any indication at this point that she’s ready, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing, to start getting her comfortable w/ the idea & the chair.  I saw her grunting, so I showed her the sign for potty and stripped her diaper off, and she sat for a good 5 minutes.. I was thinking, this is a great start!  Let her off when she reached for me, and what do you know, the little stinker had actually pee-peed in it!  I made a big show of clapping and praising her and she just grinned from ear to ear w/ pride.  Fluke or not, it’s a start!  (She’s totally going to be annoyed at some point I’m sure that I have these shots of sitting there for the first time.. But hey, that’s what moms do!)
