Tomorrow is April! Our Aprils keep pretty busy.. Seems like so many birthdays, anniversaries, Easter.. many fun happenings.. Kaylor is back to school this week, and Ash & I are back to establishing our routine.. I’d say “it’s going”.. Since this is the first time I’ve stayed home w/ a baby, I’m definitely rough around the edges on figuring out how to coordinate it.. Any tips? Kaylor is busy working this week on a poster project on a country of her choice. She chose Ireland, “because that’s where lephrecans are from” she tells me.. Funny girl. Ashlyn has really been talking up a storm this past week.. It doesn’t take much coaxing to get her to “talk”.. It’s so funny to hear her little voice.. Oh, and did I mention that our little chunky monkey wasn’t quite as big as we’d thought she’d gotten? At Friday’s appointment, she was 9lb12oz.. We really thought she was over 10lbs now.. At least we know she is growing!
And just when I thought the “Bridgetisms” had died down.. Not so much.. Saturday when I was getting ready to leave for the bridal shower, I thought, ah, I’ll throw a pair of heels on.. Then decided, nah, not today since it was raining, and I didn’t want to risk a different sort of Bridgetism, and that would be wiping out IN heels IN the rain.. lol.. So I took one off, and grabbed a heeled boot instead.. As I was putting the boot on, and while still standing w/ the heel on the other foot, (oh, and mind you, Kaylor was right there asking questions & watching).. Well, one thing lead to another and the high heeled foot, started to wobble on that skinny heel, and yep, I wiped out. Totally flat on my rear in our entry way.. Kaylor’s eyes got huge, and goes “MOM… Are YOU OKAY!??”… boy oh boy… I thought I had twisted my ankle, but it definitely wasn’t a sprain (oye… I remember the pain of those from spraining in HS).. but it stil didn’t feel the greatest.. Soo… pick myself up & off I go.. Fast forward to Saturday night as I’m sitting up in bed off & on while nursing Ashlyn.. I could not for the life of me figure out while I had some tenderness each time.. That was until Sunday morning when it hit me.. The heel incident! THAT was why my tailbone/rear end felt sore as all get out every time I sat up in bed! Doh!… There you have it… the fun continues! (and no.. no heels for me until I get my balance back… haha)
