  • Welcome!…

    to “A Step Inside”… our personal family blog, documenting the craziness of our every day life.. Sit back, enjoy, laugh, and share in the road we travel..

    I'm Bridget.. A SAHM (stay at home mom), mother of 3, and a follower of Christ. I'm also a photographer, and passionate about life.. I hope to share that w/ you too! Life isn't always perfect, but it's perfectly created in His plan. I'm beyond thankful for God's grace and His many blessings!

Monday, May 5th…

Cinco de Mayo!… Yep the 5th of May.. not the 1st.. (inside joke.. JUST teasing, ya pal)..

Had a nice weekend.. Saturday did things around the house all day, then dinner out, at Chevy’s.. chicken fajitas & a refreshing margarita.. yum! Then met up w/ Brian at a new place called 6 Strings.. Really fun place, nice atmosphere, good music.. Can’t beat that for a night of taking it easy!

Yesterday at church, we had a guest preacher in town from AZ.. His sermon was about slowing down in life, and not letting “speed kills”.. It could not have rang more true.. In my household, we are go, go, go for the most part.. And as a mom, I know that I personally have a hard time slowing down.. Not only is there “so much to do”, I always have a sense of guilt if I need to slow down.. However, after hearing the sermon, my perspective definitely changed.. While I truly appreciate the small things & life and easily recognize & acknowledge them, I rarely allow myself the time to enjoy them to the fullest extent.. New challenge?.. Slow down!.. For the first time in a while, we took naps! I was on one couch, Kaylor on the other.. Laundry needed to be finished up.. Ah, it can wait! 😛 Now, if only the corporate world would incorporate naps into the daily swing.. lol

Tonight Kaylor & I got home, and plunged into starting our garden.. We have plans for tomatoes, several kinds of peppers, cilantro, garlic, and strawberries.. Hopefully we have a nice turn out!.. I meant to snap a shot of Garden; Day 1.. I’ll do that tomorrow before digging in again (pun intended!).. I got about a 2ft. by 10ft section dug up tonight.. However I have a baaaaad feeling about my body tomorrow.. Gardening is rough work! I loved every minute of it though.. Kaylor was a trooper.. She gave it her all in doing her part to help.. We had the funniest conversations too.. I wish I could remember them all. Needless to say, I was laughing my head off at her.. I do recall this one;
Kaylor: Mommy? How does water grow?
Me: Well, it doesn’t really grow sweetie.. It’s rain that is filtered.. (*maybe*)
Kaylor: Hmm..

We also had a funny talk about the earth worms we were digging up.. Apparently to her they are “cute little guys”, as she referred to them.. To that, I say “Hmm… “

Nite!

Haha… nice answer to the water question! 🙂 You are ALMOST motivating me to plant a garden. Nah… I don't think so. Maybe we will plant some grass! LOL
