  • Welcome!…

to “A Step Inside”… our personal family blog, documenting the craziness of our every day life.. Sit back, enjoy, laugh, and share in the road we travel..

I'm Bridget.. A SAHM (stay at home mom), mother of 3, and a follower of Christ. I'm also a photographer, and passionate about life.. I hope to share that w/ you too! Life isn't always perfect, but it's perfectly created in His plan. I'm beyond thankful for God's grace and His many blessings!

Tuesday, January 1st…

Happy new year! A new year, the beginning of a new chapter.. It’s obvious that the new year means people have resolutions, new goals, new projects, but it’s funny how in a way, it really does feel like a fresh start, a clean slate, etc. etc. Guess maybe I’m just feeling that way, because I already have many goals in mind that I will achieve for 2008.. Yes, yes, this is me committing to those goals since they’re in writing.. hehe…

I’ve been working to get all of our honeymoon pictures in order and edited so that a) we can send the link out to family & friends that have been asking to see them and b) get prints ordered so that I can start on our honeymoon album.. I’ve loved going through them all this past week.. So many memories are revisited and refreshed in your mind when viewing photos that you know you took, but forgot you had.. (make sense?) This is one of the reasons that I love photography so much.. I know some people think a picture is JUST a picture, but there really are so many memories attached to a simple picture.. I’ve been reliving every moment of a trip that was a milestone in mine & Erik’s life and find myself filled w/ love for him as I recall what we were doing at those very moments captured in time on our honeymoon.. I came across this one, and had no idea of its potential until I started playing around… I will most definitely be ordering it blow up a bit to hang in our house… These two little huts were on THE very same beach that we walked hand in hand along the shore line, laughing w/ giddiness that we were at such a beautiful place in this world.. This was the start of our marriage, our life long journey… This picture will hold so many memories for us, and I cannot wait to have it one of our walls to remind us of that special trip…

Christmas Time, Part 1 (stay tuned for more holiday pics)… our holidays were nice!.. We made our usual rounds, but also spent time at home w/ family over… Here are some snapshots from our holiday fun.. (some photos, taken by Erik Barnlund as well.. lol)

A Sunday X-mas at Nonnie’s nursing home.. Anna (Erik’s mom) & Kaylor:

Aunt Sharon, Nonnie (Erik’s grandmother), and Gary (Erik’s dad):

Next is X-mas Eve at Aunt Vicki & Uncle Ivan’s:

Landyn’s 1st Christmas:

Mamaw (my mom) & Kayor opening gifts:

I’m so very proud of this picture.. This is Zachary, my cousin’s son. He is autistic as well as mentally disabled, and it’s extremely tough getting a good smile for a picture from him.. When I saw that I had captured his face lit up w/ a smile, it melted my heart:

Morgan Ray & Mylie Jo.. aren’t they just too sweet?:
