  • Welcome!…

to “A Step Inside”… our personal family blog, documenting the craziness of our every day life.. Sit back, enjoy, laugh, and share in the road we travel..

I'm Bridget.. A SAHM (stay at home mom), wife, mother of 3, and a follower of Christ. I'm also a photographer, and passionate about life.. I hope to share that w/ you too! Life isn't always perfect, but it's perfectly created in His plan. I'm beyond thankful for God's grace and His many blessings!

Monday, August 7th…

Kaylor’s birthday party started out like any normal 5 year old’s birthday party. Lots of family, lots of friends, food, presents, cake, kids running around playing, beautiful weather… couldn’t ask for anything more! Kaylor opened her presents as everyone patiently watched her, and ooh’d and ahh’d over the wonderful things that she received. As she finished opening, she was left with a small stack of remaining birthday cards. The last card was to her from Erik. He had already told me earlier in the week that he had gotten her something really special that she would “be able to wear and it was something she could keep forever”. I’m thinking tiny diamond earrings… She opens the card and Erik quickly presents her with a little box, the size of the palm of your hand. She opens to find a beautiful little heart shaped ring, with a diamond in the center. He places it on her finger, and she smiles with delight.

Erik then takes my hand and tells me that it’s now my turn and hands me back her card. I open the card to find the following:

“Please read aloud and SLOWLY!
On April 19th, 2005, my life changed forever. Two blonde bombshells walked into my life! The littlest one grabbed my hand only one hour after I met her and my heart just melted. I was in love since then, it has only gotten worse. This little girl has wrapped me around her finger and I know that I want to be a part of her and her mother’s life forever. I have fallen in love with her mother just the same. I have never met a person so caring and genuinely concerned with making other people happy. I hope all of you know just how wonderful this person is, and how much she cares about each and every one of you! She has made me a better person and has shown me that she will always stand beside me, no matter what. At this time in front of you who we love the most, I would like to show you just how committed to these two blonde bombshells I am.

Kaylor- Would you please be my daughter? Bridget…”

At this time, I look over (through many emotional tears, as I realize what is happening) and see Erik down on one knee. At that time, he asked if I would marry him, and I think that I actually said, (again through tears) that I’ll have to get back with you on that”.. LOL! I then see tears streaming down his face, and we are both so overwhelmed with joy, that the tears keep flowing. Forgetting that I had not yet given him an answer, he asked again. I then of course said yes, he slid the ring on my figner, and I threw my arms around him. At that moment, I knew more than ever that without a doubt, this very special man is my destiny, and to which I will be proud and honored to call my husband. I have never shared so much love and happiness before in my entire life. Erik is my “Mr. Right”. He is the one that I have been sent from Him, our creator, our Savior. He is the one that makes my heart whole, and floods me with happiness that is beyond words. I feel so blessed that I am sharing my life with not only a beautiful daughter, but now an incredible fiance, and even more wonderful father to my child. He is what my heart has been waiting for.

I know that I’ve said it many, many times, but thank you again to everyone that was able to make it for Kaylor’s party, and were able to share in this special moment with us. I could not have asked for a more perfect way for Erik to propose, as he stated, with the ones that we love most. You all mean the world to us, and we look forward to sharing our marriage, our love, our happiness, and our life, with everyone in the future years to come. It was SUCH a wonderful moment to share with everyone.. my dad was crying, my mom was bawling! I don’t think there was a single dry eye!!

Here are a couple pictures of our engagement ring.. it is SO perfect! I couldn’t dream of having anything else. Erik did an incredible job, and everything worked out perfectly.

Thank you Erik, for being my best friend, my partner, my companion, and now, my fiance. I love you!! And thank you to my Kaylor, for making me the proudest, happiest mommy around! I love you, pumpkin!

Hi Bridget, congratulations! you don't know me or my wife Lisa, but we both feel like we know you. I think you acurately captured and articulated all of the excitement, emotion and passion that Erik had planned. He is quite a guy and someone that is definitely going places. Your job now is to keep him grounded. From what I have heard from Erik and read between the lines in your blog, you're absolutely the right person for him at the right time. We will look forward to meeting you. In the meantime, savor this moment, and be sure to save your blog for your daughter……nice blog:) Dennis Hayashi
