Ten on Tuesday 3/27…

1.  Easter is just right around the corner… Do you do any special crafts or tasks w/ your children?  I’d like to read some special scriptures, and maybe even try this one w/ our kids..

2.  I was looking around a favorite website, The Container Store, and came across this..   Shh, don’t tell my husband they make these… He’d have one in the fridge, one in the cabinet.. hehe.. Okay, so maybe I’ve snuck into his treat stash a time or two.. BUT, when you’re married, it’s a team effort, righhhhhht?…3.  Also from the same website… Definitely gonna need a couple of these, since my desk will most likely be facing away from a wall at our new house, and sitting somewhat in the open.  4.  Check out this cute wreath… Any guess on what the orange flowers are made of?  ShamWow rags!  ha!
5.  Friends that live in the neighborhood we’re moving to just told us that every summer there are bright, orange flowers that grow all along the fence in our yard… I’m stoked!

6.  22 days left on our closing day countdown..  Kaylor told me last night that she’s very excited, and when she gets excited about something she wishes it would just be here already.. Me too, kiddo, me too!

7.  Erik is excited too… He keeps showing me online plans for an outdoor fireplace, built-in grill, patio area… I just smile & nod:P

8.  Oh, I just remembered that I haven’t shared my winter mantle on the blog yet!  I love it, so it’s continuing on through spring.. I’m tempted to even put the same back up after we move..

9.  I often times wake up not sure of what day of the week it is.. Obviously depending on which day, varies for our schedule.. It usually takes me a moment or two to figure it out.  Am I the only one that does this?..

10.  Has anyone read “Grace Based Parenting”… Think I’ll buy a copy from the Kindle edition.

Sold!… and bought!

Wow.. We are completely in awe of God’s work, and His many blessings.  We’re so thankful to have faith in a loving God, and will always continue to trust completely in Him. When we listed our home for sale on April 1st, 2011, we really weren’t sure what He would have in store for us. We did however, know that we had faith in His will & His plan for our family. Looking back, over the months there was really never a point in time in which Erik, nor I were frustrated w/ the process. We had a few offers, some that loved the house, but just couldn’t get financing, another that very well could have been a scam of some sort, and many that first had to sell their home to be able to buy ours.  Those were just a couple of the unsuccessful attempts to sell.  Each time, leaving Erik & I looking at one another saying, “Well, if it was supposed to happen it would have, it’s His plan, not ours”.  We would walk away knowing that we would continue to simply be thankful to have a home, and thankful for everything we’re blessed w/.

One day shy of being 11 months since we had listed our house, we got an offer, and accepted. Not only was it a confirmed “we want your house, let’s start paperwork”, but a great family at that. This was the family God was holding out for. Just days before, we had been entertaining the idea of proceeding to go forward w/ refinancing, while interest rates are so low.  Needless to say, a wave of emotions overcame us when we received word, as I don’t think we had really taken our thought process to the next phase.  Funny enough, our small group family was over, and we were just wrapping up study for the evening when we received the message.  They were excited to have been there & to hear the news too.

We began looking around online at current listings, and one of the very first ones that Erik found, seemed like it was exactly what we were looking for.  We instantly fell in love w/ the house, and new it was a great fit for our family.  We could already see many, many years of memories to be made in that home.  We got the offer from our buyers on Wednesday, scheduled to see the house we had looked at online, on Friday, made an offer Friday night, filled out paperwork on Saturday, and our offer was accepted the same day.  Whew!  What a difference 24 hours makes.. Sold a home and bought a new one all in one day.. If that’s not God’s timing, I’m not sure what is!  Thank you, Lord!

So, let the moving process begin!  We  close on both houses on April 20th.  Packing has begun, and I’m determined to keep the move as organized as possible.  I’ve got a master moving list in MS Word, and as boxes & tubs are packed, they are labeled by room, and numbered.  The master list cordinates w/ the labels, and has a summary of what is in each box.  This way, if there are thirty kitchen boxes, I know exactly which box # has the item I’m looking for in it.

We have so many ideas that we’re looking forward to doing in our new home.  We are all super excited.. Since Kaylor will be going into 6th grade this fall, she will be heading to junior high, and thankfully, it will be to the same school she would currently be heading to w/ her friends & classmates. Ashlyn is okay w/ moving, now that she understands we can take all of our things from this house w/ us.. She thought we’d have to take the previous owner’s things, and was disappointed that they did not have toys.  hehe..  As for Rowen… Well, I’m sure he will love exploring his new surroundings too.

I see lots of home related blog posts in the near future:)  If you follow me on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ve seen my pinning of paint colors, and room ideas..  What did we do before that nifty site?!?  lol

Bridgetism… again…

Do you ever have moments in your life that just make you laugh? If you don’t you should!;) And if you’re not sure what a “Bridgetism” is… click here

Yesterday, after handing over packages to the postal carrier, I had this feeling that I had put the wrong label on one. I ran back inside, and sure enough, I had. I tried to catch him, but he was already down the street (thank goodness it was during the daytime, in which I believe most of my neighbors were at work).. I turned to go back inside, and had locked myself out of the house.. doh! Had to use the keypad and go through the garage. Thankfully, the mail truck is lacking an exhaust of some sort, because it is loud. Very loud. I was able to somewhat follow its location through the subdivision, and conveniently catch it on the way back through. Yes, the mailman did give me an incredibly strange look when I requested the original large package back so that I could change the labels.. Ah well.. lol

It’s very humbling to know that a Bridgetism is only a postage label away from happening =)

Ten on Tuesday 9/20…

1.  I signed up for a 3 month meal email service.. For just $7!  If you’re interested, click here..

2.  I always mention how I love tutorials…  I’d never been sure how to do a fishtail braid.  Not any longer, thanks to this site! (it’s okay if you’re not quite as excited as I am about the braid.. but, you just may find something else fun to learn on there..hehe)

3.  One of my girlfriends mentioned a great idea.. Emailing our weekly menus to one another for new ideas for dinner.  If you’d like to join us, shoot me an email!

4.  We have a crawler on our hands!  Well, an army crawler/scooter that is.  In this last week Rowen has decided it’s time to sit up unassisted, as well as do the new crawl..  I’m a-okay w/ him just starting these things.. I don’t want my baby to not be a baby anymore! lol

 5.  I was recommended to try Philosphy’s, Purity when I had my facial done.. I ordered some, and it’s working great.  My face feels moisturized, and soft, but most importantly clean of makeup at the end of the day..

6.  I’m certain one of the best feelings in the world, is having your little one give a big gummy/two teeth smile up at you while nursing..

7.  Downside to having a router in your master bedroom… Having a router in your master bedroom..  :P  Whenever Comcast comes to check the download speeds they always have to come in our master..  Super funny though, to see how clearly apparent their awkward feelings are! <giggles>

8.  I love that Conair now has a little case for their bobby pins.. Perfect for this OCD organization girl! Conair Accessories - Bobby Pins - 75 pc in a case - Bronze

9.  I think next week I’ll be working on a “way I organize” type post… Any interest in that?   Let me know!

10.  I’m late on Ten on Tuesday… Should probably switch to being called, “May Happen Ten on Tuesday” if the week doesn’t start off too crazy;)

Ten on Tuesday 6/7…

1.  The kids and I are going to make a summer “bucket list” of things we’d like to do.. Kaylor is super excited to start on it.. Me too!

2.  Great tip I read in All You magazine; Slip an old pillowcase over each blade of a ceiling fan, then apply mild pressure as you slide it off.  The dust will stay in the case.  I do this, and even spritz a bit of organic cleaner, before putting the pillow case over the blade, and it works wonderfully!!  No more sneezing, and having to re-vacuum after cleaning them!

3.  Retractable cords make me happy.

4.  Keep your flowers looking great longer, by removing the leaves that fall below the water line to prevent rotting.  Also try clipping (at an angle) the stems every couple of days, and refilling w/ fresh water.

5.  Erik & I started Couch to 5k last week..  Not that we necessarily want to run a 5k, just using the program to increase our running habits.  Um, can I call it a habit, if we just started?:P

6.  This looks like a neat product.. Wonder if it really works..

7.  I love book lights.. Can’t ever have too many:)

8.  I’d love to get some summer color going.. Any favorite self tanners that you love?  Quick drying?  Non-streaking?  Non-Umpa Lumpaish?

9.  I’m so relieved I made it through the weekend in one piece… I literally had to write out an itinerary of times and where I needed to be & what I was to be doing…Whew!

10.  I just saw a recipe for homemade slushies… No wonder kids (and us too) love them so much… Lots of sugar!  Eek!
