1.  Since I love using natural remedies for wellness, this is a great tip;
Boost Immunity with an Easy Stretch
Tight muscles might mean a weakened immune system. Loosen up with an easy stretch: All you need is a chair or counter and a free minute.

2.  One way to motivate yourself to mop the kitchen floor when it needs it… Start to shake a jar of baby food (organic of course) and not realize you’ve already unscrewed the lid.. Doh!..

3.  This is a really great guide for what to buy and what not to buy at dollar stores..

4.  Please say a prayer for my little cousin.. She is just 14, and is having further testing on the 18th, but the doctors have mentioned cancer cells.  She is heavy on our hearts right now.. Love you, Whit!

5.  So proud of Erik for his installation of our new, and pretty snazzy faucet this week!  I was a tad concerned when he told me he thought he was plenty certified to install it after watching a youtube video.. Ack! haha  Nice work though, honey!

6.  I’m super excited to have new carpet coming this week for our master suite, and Kaylor’s bedroom… Then I realized that it also means completely emptying two bedrooms, two walk-in closets, and a 10 year old’s closet.. Eek!

7.  The girls made up their own “skit” yesterday and had to come show me;

8.
9.  Couldn’t help but share another video.. Nothing in the world beats baby giggles;

10.  I love these photo display ideas.. Can’t wait to update a wall (or two) in our home;

1.  I love these diy bookshelves..  On my list for the new playroom after we move;

or these too;

2.  This may be a well known tip, but when I’m making cookie bars, I use a piece of parchment paper and baker’s roller to smooth out the dough for an even baking consistency.. Works like a charm!

3.  Billy Currington (a country singer) was featured on a bag of onions I bought.. I had to laugh aloud, as it seemed so strange!  lol

4.  Don’t have any buttermilk for a recipe?  Use a cup of regular milk and add a tablespoon of lemon juice, and let sit for 5 minutes.  Works like a charm!

5.  Have you ever thought about selling your phone on ebay?  I sold my iPhone 3GS for $290 (after having it for two years!) and just bought the iPhone 4 for $299!  Even w/ the ebay fees, not a bad deal!

6.  Speaking of phones.. I bought a case as well as a screen protector for my new phone, and found out that it blocks the sensor for making the screen go black while on a call.  This doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re constantly putting your caller on hold, mute, and ending the call..yikes!  Here is the one that I had purchased.. I’m exchanging it for a clear one; screen protector

7.  Isn’t this beautiful?  Would be lovely anywhere in the house!

8.  We received an offer on our house over the weekend.. Unfortunately, it was considerably less than what our “bottom $” was that we have in mind..  So, we’ll continue to be patient, and wait for His plan:)

9.  We’re still studying the book of Exodus for our small group.. Initially going into it I though, “will I really be able to relate myself to Moses and his life?’.. I’m so glad to say that YES I can!  It’s amazing how literally, every part of the Bible really does speak directly to us.. I love it!

10.  I made a quick cake over the weekend to try out a new cake recipe… I’m proud to say that there IS some still left at this point in time;) I used a cupcake frosting recipe that isn’t that stiff, so my roses (I use that term loosely.. lol) didn’t hold too well.. Ah well, it didn’t have to be pretty to taste good.

More about Swagbucks…

and why I love using it!  So I have Swagbucks set to be my default browser search engine.. Granted, it’s not the greatest for search results, and typically I do resort to using google (which I have as a plug-in button on my toolbar for quick access).  BUT, I’ll explain more about why it’s still beneficial.

When I go to my most frequented websites, I just type in “facebook” or whatnot in the address bar, and Swagbucks automatically searches for that site, and I have the chance of earning swag bucks.  These really do add up, and it’s really only an extra click here & there.  Here are my earnings to date, for just what I normally do on the net anyhow. Since November, I’ve already earned $25 FREE dollars!  I personally use mine to cash out as Amazon gift cards, because I purchase so many things from Amazon.com.

$5 Amazon.com e-Gift Card Shipped Date: 03/17/11

$5 Amazon.com e-Gift Card Shipped Date: 12/09/10

And check out this awesome breakdown… 48 mini bags of teddy graham snacks for $1.59!  Amazon had 12 counts (packs of 2, so 24 snack bags) for $9.76.  I added 2 to my shopping cart, used the Amazon Subscribe & Save, which discounted $2.93, for a total of $16.59, and then used my Amazon gift cards that I had earned on Swagbucks.  My OOP (out of pocket) $1.59 or just a tiny bit over 3cents snack bag.  Not too shabby!;)

Language of Cries…

I came across some information recently that was absolutely fascinating..  It’s all about how babies cry, and recognizing patterns in the cry to figure out what the cry is indicating.  I found the video below on youtube, and couldn’t wait to test the woman’s theories out on Mr. Rowen..  Sure enough, they have been very accurate!  For those who don’t have time to watch the entire video, in summary, there are 5 cries that are significant for all babies 0-3 months.  This applies to babies of all races, gender, culture, etc. because they are reflex & instinct.

These are the sounds;
Neh:  hunger, watch for the distinct ”Nnnnn” sound in the cry
Owh: tired, mouth will typically form an O, yawning shape
Eh: burp, this is the reflex for trying to push the burp out
Eairh: gas, sounds similar to “eerrrrrr” or “air”
Heh: uncomfortable, watch for the “H” sound, heh heh or ha ha, can indicate hot/cold, diaper, position

The biggest part of determining the cry, is listening closely before the baby gets too upset.  If you’ve got a new baby, I’d love to hear if you hear these sounds too!

Stock up on Gifts!

I read recently about an idea that I really enjoyed..   If you have school aged children, then chances are they are invited to birthday parties of their friends, classmates, etc.  Often times when you add up the $10-$20 spent on gifts for each of those parties, it adds up, and fast!  A solution to still giving the great gifts that our kiddos love, is to watch the sales & stock up!  I look for age appropriate games and crafts that I know Kaylor would love, which means her friends should enjoy too. Then when the time comes for a party, I can pull out my “stock of kid gifts” for her to choose from, and done!  This doubles for coming in handy so you’re not rushing at the last minute to go gift shopping.

After holidays is a great time to do this.  For example, right now Amazon.com has toys up to 70% off!  I did so today, and bought four gifts w/ retail prices totaling $62.96  for just $21.96.  Four gifts, done!

Let me know if you try this out too…  This can obviously be done for others too, not just kids.. I’d love to hear what great deals you find:)
